Hi!

I am wondering whether anybody has first hand experience with the Sony 12-24mm lens? Anybody who owned Nikon 12-24mm or used Canon's 11-22mm wide angle lenses and can compare them to Sony's 12-24mm wide angle lens?

Thanks!

The Sony 12-24 is an e-mount lens. As far as I know, no film cameras support e-mount lenses, so it is unlikely you will get many responses on an analog forum.

Sony makes a few very wide angle zooms for its alpha mount. All of those lenses are for APS sensors. They will fit on Minolta alpha-mount film cameras, but will not fill the frame.

I just put a Sony 11-18mm on a 9xi, looking through the viewfinder the corners go dark around 14mm. It might be useable at the long end.

Sigma made TWO 12-24mm A-mount zooms, and Minolta and Sony (and others) made plenty of other wide-angle A-mount zooms. I like my Minolta 17-35mm -- I think Minolta made three versions. Don't believe everything on the WEB.
