I ALWAYS wear nitrile gloves when loading/unloading sheet film holders. This is definitely a first for me. HP5 8x10. I wonder who the dirty culprit was?

Whoa.

I have to admit I never wear any gloves when loading sheet film, and I've never managed a fingerprint.

Surely that must have happened during processing or printing.

FWiW, that doesn't look like a fingerprint to me, although as presented its a bit disorienting.
It certainly isn't pretty.

Nope. Couldn't have happened during processing because as I said, I wore gloves. Also BTZS tube was used. Haven't printed it yet. It's hanging up drying still.

I expect, as a former high school photo teacher, you probably can identify a fingerprint on film
It's just hard to identify what we are looking at.
Can you share a photo from a bit farther away, so we can figure out what is where?

I have used about half of the box, and they've all been fine. I still have to develop another sheet though, but not 'til tomorrow...

That wouldn't have happened if you'd stuck to X-ray film . That could have been there before Harman received the polyester "film" prior to coating with emulsion. Need some forensic science here!

Ink? Some sort of chemical? Pretty darn prominent mark. Need to get Scotland Yard to search their database.
