One view camera is never enough. You need a "small" 6x9 rollfilm one, a 4x5" one for polaroids, and at least a 5x7" for b&w work.MattCarey said:"Someone please tell me why I need both an SLR and a TRL. "
You don't. You need an SLR, a TLR and a view camera.

Hmmm. Until I read your post, I thought I had at least as many cameras as I needed. Two Graphics, two Nikons, two Beaulieu S8 cameras, and too many: Canon S8 cameras, Eumig Nautica, Retinas, 120 film pocketable folders, ... And I seem to have more lenses than I need too.laz said:I swear I fainted when I read this question! An APUGer who doesn't know why he needs more cameras needs to seek professional help right away!
LOL!

Have fun!
narsuitus said:1. If you need lenses longer than what is available for the TLR, you need the SLR.
2. If you need lenses that are wider than what is available for the TLR, you need the SLR.
3. If you need to attach the camera to a microscope, you need the SLR.
4. If you need to see the depth of field in the viewfinder, you need the SLR.
5. If you need less hassle with parallax, you need the SLR.
6. If you need to see the filter effect in the viewfinder, it is easier with the SLR.
7. If you need easy focusing with a dark filter on the lens, you need the TLR.
8. If you need quiet operation, you need the TLR.
9. If you need minimal camera vibration when the shutter is released, you need the TLR.
10. If you prefer a camera with fewer moving parts, you need the TLR.
11. If you need to see the subject in the viewfinder at the moment of exposure, you need the TLR.
Fair question.medform-norm said:Hmm, if that is so, why then did you bid on the Boyer Beryl a couple of days ago, which, incidentally, is soon to travel northwards to Holland...
Dan Fromm said:So, are you going to mount the Beryl on a pocketable 6x9 folder?

Dan
