But what picture wculd could stand such dominant frame?

Too distracting to be useful and for the cost I can do a whole lot better.

We have different tastes. To me, they're as ugly as the hind end of a hog.

Heh, years ago a judge at a local art show made a statement to the effect "the frame should be invisible." That is, it should not distract from the artwork. Of course, a few days later I saw an exhibit of work from the collection of a local museum that had an oil painting about 30 x 40 inches in a presumably original frame. The frame "moulding" was about 10 or 12 inches wide and covered with carving on top of carving -- and gilded -- different people and different eras had different ideas.

Why are you insulting hogs? What did they ever do to you?

I think a picture like this would fit...

Until now, I've never found a better frame for this one...

Those are really cool, but certainly of limited use. I think the picture-frame combination should be as one. Yours might work, Bill Burk, as would other tree and/or branch themes. I'll bet they're expensive - would think they're hand made. Thanks for sharing this.
