Just to put it here too:

I have a feeling that many people (including my wife) would say I have enough barrel lenses by now. I'm not entirely convinced myself, but as soon as the Gruppen-Antiplanet and the Aplanat Satz arrives, I'll take a break. At least until I find out what I have...

The camera is a classic 24x30cm German "Reisekamera" with an universal iris lens mount holding a Lancaster & Son 12x10" Rectigraph.

Ole,

the goal is not to have 1 lense for each post to APUG....

Ole's obviously an optimist and the table is only half full, not half empty.

But there still wasn't room for the other lenses - the ones with shutters. Or the other cameras.

Solution? I need a bigger table! :D

But, a bigger table would take money away from buying lenses!

Matt

That, in itself, might not be a bad thing...

Does 'Iris Lens Mount' mean that it closes down to fit perfectly around whichever lens you put in it?

Sounds like a great idea. No need to have lots of different lens boards and the lens is always central.

Steve.

Steve,
Yes, that's correct. It's a universal mount. And SOMEONE around here keeps buying them all.

This "SOMEONE" has only bought the ones noone else has found - they're the cheapest. Also, the good cheap ones have a nasty habit of coming attached to a camera, and someone thinks that somebody has enough of those. At least until christmas is over...

But yes, they're brilliant things. One lens board for everything from 20 to 97mm diameter (the one in the picture), and I've also found one small enough to put on a Speed Graphic lens board, which makes it a lot easier to use all those little brass thingies.

oh Ole,

I beat you out on a 210mm Doppel Anastigmat this week ;-)
Got some new ebay bidding tricks that I won't share to anyone :D

Hi Ole,
It looks like you have a 500mm Krauss Tessar there. I picked up the same lens, but have not had a chance to use it yet. What is your impression of the lens?
