I've got new leather in hand for my FED-2 that has been shedding its original covering. I've removed it but want to clean the glue residue. Anyone know what kind of solvent should work with this old Soviet glue?

For cleaning metal, I use acetone. But be careful to not let it touch the painted trim.

Turns out the glue residue was easier to remove simply by scraping with a razor blade. Nice smooth surface left behind. Camera is now call covered.

For future reference, if you don't want to cvrape it or use acitone, I've found isopropyl alcohol works really well too
