I got one of these on eBay, opened it, and a bunch of pieces fell out. Anyone have a manual or know how it's supposed to work?
What fell out are 4 plastic pieces and 2 small metal weights. I assume this controls the paper-holding doohickey and it all got shaken loose in shipping.
I wish you luck.
I believe that we may have here a problem that is impossible to solve in an internet discussion.
If you were down the street, I would bring mine over, we could peer into it with a flashlight and we would get things straightened out for you.
These were sold under a bunch of different names. Here is a thread from more than ten years ago that might help a bit: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/restem-soligor-paterson-auto-feed-paper-safe.63567/
I still have one in use in the darkroom. What I did find helpful was to put an old print on top of the paper you are loading to decrease any risk to the top sheet
Finally was able to load my Soligor safe thanks to others' instructions above.. The four springs seem OK, but it doesn't dispense a sheet from either top or bottom when opening. And what of the slider on front that moves from 0 to 10?
I think that is just intended to help you either label the contents (paper by grade?) or indicate the quantity of paper.
It is just an adjustable marker.
