I am researching rewritable photopolymers since 1995. I looked to google and found that. That can be used with cameras easily , sensivity is for 500nm era and when it goes back to dark , turns itself again. This technology is for space based telescopes correction for aberrations in real time with real time holograms
The development of practical optical holographic
devices requires sensitive and fast dynamic holographic
recording media. Organic molecules have
attracted particular attention. Examples include
azo-dye molecules in polymer hosts,' pure nematic
liquid crystals,2 and polymeric liquid crystals.3 Here
we describe real-time holography in azo-dye-doped
nematic liquid crystals. Our motivation is to find
novel materials for dynamic holography. The attraction
of the materials that we consider is the photosensitivity
of the azo-dye molecules and the large
birefringence of the liquid-crystal molecules.
We have recorded holograms by introducing
Methyl Red sodium salt, 4-dimethylaminoazobenzene-
2'-carboxylic acid (from Sigma), which is
an azo-dye molecule, into 4'-pentyl-4-biphenylcarbonitrile
(PCB, from Aldrich), a nematic liquidcrystal
host. The Methyl Red molecules are known
to undergo cis-trans-photoisomerization. 4 At room
temperature, the trans-isomer is stable. However,
the molecular conformation changes to the cisisomer
when exposed to light polarized along the
extended trans-form. In darkness, or when exposed
to light at a wavelength outside the absorption
band of the trans-isomer, the cis-isomer relaxes
back to the trans-state.
