For Sale SOLD: Stereo Realist 3.5

This is the classic David White company Stereo Realist, designed by Seton Rochwite, early 1950s. Takes 35mm film and produces pairs of nearly square 23x23mm images. Working condition but some issues. Lenses fairly clean. Focus is internal by moving the film plane. The left side focus cam is broken off inside, so the film plane moves at the right side and pivots from the left side. I have shimmed the left side for optimum focus at 6 feet which is a great distance for stereo subjects. Stopped down to f8 or beyond good stereo images at all distances over 4 feet result. Good stereo images have a lot of depth of field, so you would want to use f8 or smaller whenever possible anyway. Rangefinder works. Aperture and shutters work at all speeds; a bit slow below 1/25 s. Frame spacing good. Film advance a little tight in cold weather. Hot shoe has been filed to accept a modern flash and camera has X sync.
