----- SOLD -----

Hello and thanks for looking.

I am selling an MC YASHMA-4N 300mm f2.8 lens in Nikon F mount.

From what I have been able to piece together, I believe that this lens was introduced in the early 1990s and manufactured in the Arsenal/Kiev plant in Ukraine. It sports 8 elements in 6 groups and stops down to f22. The glass is multi-coated (hence the MC designation), but this does not appear to be APO glass version. The minimum focus is 3 meters, just under ten feet.

This copy shows signs of use and there are small scratches on the front element and some moderate dust between the elements that do not seem to have any impact on image quality. [Note: contact me and I can send photos of the item]

The lens mount is a tad loose and I have not addressed this as I was going to adapt the lens to a medium format mount - which I think this covers up to 6x7 (perhaps with a touch of vignetting). As is, the lens operates fine and feels well built. The focus action is lighter than the Nikkor AI 300mm f2.8 and Tamron 360B version of their 300mm f2.8.

It has a focus limiter ring which is not smooth in terms of rotation, but can be positioned to desired limit.

As to image quality, I was pleasantly surprised. I would place image quality below, but close to the Tamron 300mm f2.8 360B (this was the last of the adapt-all mount, with slightly improved optics over the more well known green version - model 60B). I can send photos taken with this lens on a Nikon D800 with exposure adjustment and default sharpening for screen upon exporting the file.

Items included: lens; lens hood; hand strap; three rear mount filters; lens case (poor condition); rear lens cap.

At less than $1 per mm, this is a nice option for exploring the world of 300mm f2.8 for Nikon or adapting it to a mirror-less system.

now SOLD $275 shipped to a USA address (paypal verified/confirmed mailing address).

Hi! International shipping ?
Shipping from the USA has not only become more expensive, but now there are delays with covid as well as duty and customs that the purchaser has to deal with which can also cause delays.

Some samples of images at various apertures (see jpg for details). Exported as JPG from Nikon NEF files, no sharpening applied.
