Up for sale is my very nice Rolleiflex 3.5 E3. The E3 were the last of the E models, built on the chassis of the newer F series, and are fairly rare. This camera is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. The lens is clean and clear, the lens coating is intact and scratch-free, shutter is accurate, focus is smooth, focussing screen is bright and clean. I found no need to “upgrade” to another screen - this one is very easy to focus.

The film advance is super smooth and the frame spacing is accurate. The images from this lens are very sharp and has a rendering that only Rolleiflex can do.

There are a few minor signs of use on the camera - please see the attached photos.

The camera was CLA’d just before I bought it a year ago by Barn Owl Cameras in Massachusetts. They did an excellent job. It has functioned perfectly for me.

Camera comes with an original hood (with case), and original orange filter, an aftermarket “rolleinar 1” (brand Vemar, which works great and produces very nice sharp images) plus case, a soft release for the shutter button, lens cap, and a new Rollei leather strap.

$ 1600 includes fees and insured shipping. USA sales only please. A signature will be required for delivery.

I wish I had the money for this. The E3 model is a great camera. All the refinement and final design improvements of the F series but simpler and smoother without the linkages and such for the coupled metering. Some day this model will be my last Rolleiflex, but alas not this month. GLWS (nice accessories, by the way- the necessary ones, and not cheap at all these days!)

Is the flash shoe on the left side an add-on? I do not recall seeing this on other Rolleiflex bodies. (Possibly it was an E3 feature?)

It’s an add-on. Stuck on with that 3-M removable glue/tape. Easily removable. I added it because I was using a small shoe mount light meter.

This kit made me drool...

Sadly, I'm in Australia and not North America, our Ozbuck is worth 70.a bit more US cents and shipping costs would bankrupt me, that is if I had any money left after buying it. So it will have to go to somebody else, lucky!!

My Rolleiflex 3.5 E2 from the same era will have to make do for me. I bought it new/as a demo in 1966 and I've used it well until a few years ago, when 'D' took over (I will some day repent for this, I know), film prices Down Under then went thru the roof and old age caught up to me. The Zeiss Planar 80/3.5 in mine has a small but noticeable egg-shaped spot of balsam separation, but nothing at all shows in my negatives, my prints to 8x10" (and likely bigger, but I don't print above that size) show no obvious marks, and the E2 goes on working as it always did. Two CLAs and one minor repair to the automat loading system and that's it. Unlike its owner, who now seems to be needing a complete overhaul.

Best of luck to you in your sale, and kudos to the fortunate buyer who will get to use this beautiful camera. Most definitely they no longer build them like this any more.
