A bit of a rare item! This Leitz-Wollensak lens was offered only for a short period just after WW2. Leitz made the bodies, and Wollensak made the lenses (among their first coated lenses). Offered only in the USA.
Cosmetically, it's in good condition. I have no idea why someone removed the nickel plating from the front of the base; perhaps to quickly ID that it was their lens. Someone also filed down one of the tabs of the focus lever locking position so that it will unlock with moderate lateral pressure (as opposed to having to press down on the unlock button, then moving the lever). They may have done this to allow for rapid unlocking of the focus lever if the need arose.
Optically, it's in excellent condition! The glass is clean and clear; no haze or fungus. There is slight wear to the lens coating, but this should be expected given the age of the lens.
Will work in any camera set up for Leica Thread Mount - M39 lenses.
