Let's not kid ourselves. This thing has a mug that only an amateur potter could love...
If your kindergarten kid made a camera out of clay and brought it home, this is most probably what it would look like.
But gosh darn it, you would tell that rugrat how beautiful it is, and how much you'll love using it.

And when you do use it, cuz he'll be daring you to, you'll find out that this Samsung (designed by Porsche!!!!) actually takes great pics! It really does! Way better than that Minolta I'm selling which is much more expensive cuz it's pretty and this is not.. See, design does matter! Or are we just shallow? Hmm.

I bought this new old stock from Fireside Camera in San Fran, just because I couldn't believe they were selling new cameras. The condition is still almost new. Comes with the box and instructions. Once upon a time it had a weird rubber case, but that thing literally crumbled to dust when I took it out of the box.

Anyway, a very ugly camera that gives very good results. Don't be shallow like me.

$20 + Shipping. Shipping is flat rate USPS med box @ $15.50 - don't hate me for that.

Some pics taken with it:

And in macro mode (don't judge me, I was young and needed the money):

Of the camera itself:

Seriously I wonder if there was a miss-spelling, and they meant to write Portia design? Designed by the CEO's niece.

F.A. Porsche did a lot of work with companies on consumer product designs. They did some particularly nice work with LaCie back in the day on portable hard drives. I've seen other work by them and this seems to be an outlier....a very unfortunate one at that.

Naw, your kid couldn't make something that ugly. Not until after they went to the Rhode Island School of Design; then, maybe.

And the Porsche 356 was ugly. Heck, half of everything has to be below average. 1 in 10 is in the bottom 10th percentile.

Funny how students want to be graded 'on the curve.'

The 356 was very curvy.

You cannot make this stuff up…

I remember the Renault Alliance winning Motor Trend Car of the Year in 1983 – perhaps the pool of judges was similar.

You cannot make this stuff up:
'best camera'...best at what, or in what area? It could be 'best ugly P&S under $500'.
A fraternity brother in college drove a Porsche 356, and even he made disparaging remarks about its styling!

It clearly says Best Compact Camera 1994-1995 from European Photo Awards AND TIPA.

Those actually were a big deal. It does take really good pics, so perhaps they judged it on that. And they wouldn't be wrong.

I noticed the LCD has a setting for "FUZZ." WTF? So I waste time with Google...

It seems in "Fuzzy zoom" mode, when the light is low and you have zoomed in, the camera will instead zoom out, increasing the maximum aperture and enabling a faster shutter speed. I can think of some members of my family ...

Indeed. And PORT is for when you imbibe in a particular wine, STEP is when you take shots of that stepchild...
They thought of everything, no wonder it was compact camera of the year!

My Canon IID has a bigger peep hole that this monstrosity.

Yikes! That's one butt-ugly camera!

My Canon IID is a ltm barnack. It might be smaller than the compact of the year 1994-95

Not really surprising seeing it does not have auto focus, a 38-140 zoom lens, built in light meter, flash and autowinder.

Kinda weird comparison really, but as long as it keeps bumping this thread, have at it!

Just tryin' to help you out. It worked....you reprised all the wonderful features of your camera very succinctly.
