FS: Nikon Coolpix 990 modified for Infrared with LifePixel
I've had this for a long time, having bought the LifePixel internal filter for something like $150! Well, it is just one of those toys one likes to play with sometimes...and of course now they either don't sell the DIY option or it is much less expensive, not sure... Anyway, it was a DIY job at the time, and I used it for awhile... but it has sat unused for many years so I figure it is time to share the joy...
The only problem is this Coolpix 990 has the common problem of having the battery compartment lock break, and there is no easy/cheap solution. So, I just drilled a hole in the battery compartment door and use a screw. Yes, that is a hassle when you want to change batteries. Priced accordingly!
Comes with strap and one of those old Compact Flash Cards which it uses exclusively.
As far as I can tell everything works, took a few photos with it yesterday. Obviously this is an old and used camera for cheap, so you won't be too harsh in judgment. (no return!)
Attached photo images taken with this camera, just to give an idea of the look it gives (some images slightly tweaked digitally).
Only $20 plus shipping from 47150.
Thanks,
Keith Ostertag
