No, it’s not principle; it’s practical… you will not buy from US-only sellers because they will not ship to you. You probably didn’t really want this lens anyway.

I have bought from Vincent Peri on two occasions, and have had good interactions in both cases.

I believe it is unrealistic to expect a person with severe neuropathy, who is getting out of photography because of problems with balance and standing, to stand in long lines at the post office for long periods going through the difficulties involved with international shipping.
