Sold [SOLD] Leica M5 2-lug silver, DR 50mm Summicron w/ Goggles

Selling a great camera that's not getting enough use. Focus patch is bright and all speeds work correctly. Camera was CLA'd by its previous owner in 2017 I believe, and the meter was calibrated to work with modern LR44/SR44 batteries (one is wedged in the cell chamber now). Other than some edge wear it's very clean, with a clean VF and smooth handling / advance / rewind.

DR Summicron is in very good condition for its age, with only minor dust and faint / impossible to photograph cleaning marks that are typical of glass of this vintage. One step-off offset screw is disassembled from the goggles allowing it to fit on the M5, but it can be screwed back on (kept it in a film canister). Goggles have always been kept in a small Leica pouch (included). Lens also includes the clip-on Leica hood, metal lens cap, yellow filter and 39mm UV filter. Pictures come out amazing especially on black and white film. More photos of the lens / samples available on request.

Asking $1500 net for the M5, $1100 net for the DR Summicron 50mm, or $2500 combined. Local pickup also available in the Seattle metro area.

About 25 years ago I had two M5's (and a 7 elements Summicron), these are the best camera's LEITZ ever made, better than the M4-2 and the M3 I had previously...
Perhaps some purists found it "ugly" and a "disrespect" for the Barnack legacy, which ofcourse is nonsense, it was a technical evolution adapted to the needs of the times...
I found the design very 'Bauhaus' styled.

The only negative side was that I had to let modify the bajonet mount of my Super-Angulon 21mm to prevent the metering arm from popping up as it might hit the back end of the lens.

But for the rest, just a superior camera (perhaps a little over-engineered)!
