That is a beauty! GLWS.
You can't go wrong with an M2. But as Kodachromeguy said, there's at least 10 good reasons to keep the iiif, if you can swing it.Thanks Logan. It has been a fantastic introduction to Leica for me and I'm only reluctantly selling it to help pay for a Leica M2 that I bought recently.
Brad, let me urge you to keep this gorgeous IIIF and the 5cm Elmar lens:
1. As time goes on, the remaining stock of IIIFs will be more and more beat up and will diminish in total number.
2. It will be repairable in the future.
3. They don't make them like this any more. Definitely not!
4. It will be usable as long as 35mm perforated film is made and sold.
5. You will enjoy occasionally using this as a substitute for your M2.
6. These ltm Leicas are compact and great travel cameras, especially with the collapsible Elmar.
7. It is so technologically elegant.
8. People stop to admire it when you are using a ltm Leica. It can be an ice-breaker.
9. It is definitely not a spray and pray photon capture device: you need to think with this.
10. It is unlikely to depreciate, while the $600 definitely will.

Thanks Guys. All true of course. If there is no interest here, I will be very pleased to keep it. It is a pretty good travel companion. Just thought I'd offer it up to give someone else a chance...and $600 would go along way to filling my propane tank so I can heat the house this winter.
Here's one of the first photos I made with this camera and Elmar lens. I was totally blown away...couldn't believe that this 70 year old camera and simple lens could do this. Incidentally, I set my light meter down while eating lunch here...and apparently walked away without it. if somebody finds a Gossen digital LunaPro on the rocks above Bear Gulch reservoir...let me know!
Someone please buy this so I can stop looking at it...
Thank goodnessSale Pending...
Thank you, Charley, for jumping on that grenade for me.
Truly a great deal and I was vibrating every time I looked at it.... but I’m out of work at the moment and can’t be buying more toys!
Enjoy your new camera!
