For Sale Leica IIIc

Hello folks. Advancing years along with health and mobility considerations suggest to me that it might be prudent to downsize and to get the gear out there where someone else might derive the kind of pleasure I have already enjoyed. I am offering my beautiful little Barnack Leica IIIc for sale. It is in pristine condition with one exception - and you will have to strain to see that in the photos - the Vulcanite on the front right is is cracked. It has been that way since I purchased it and it isn’t really something that bothered me. It was given a CLA by Youxin Ye in 2019 (I can provide correspondence-documentation supporting this). Youxin replaced one of the shutter curtains, and the rangefinder prism. He noted that the camera is in very good condition and hasn’t seen much use through its lifetime. It worked flawlessly for me and I would like to find it a good home. I estimate it to be a 1946/1947 version. It will come body-only and with a 3rd party body cap and will be carefully packed for shipping. Funds will be USD and the purchaser will pay the shipping fees. PayPal is fine. You can view the photos of the camera, and some of the photos which I have taken with the camera at the URLs listed below. Please note, the lenses in the photos and the Leica brightline viewfinder shown on the Leica IIIc are not included in the sale offering. The sale offering is Leica IIIc only. So, in summary, this beautiful Leica IIIc is being listed for $450 USD, buyer pays shipping and it will come to you as a Tracked Packet via Canada Post / USPS insured and tracked. I can do UPS if you wish but the cost will be more and the buyer will bear the costs. Thank you for looking at this. ~Jim Williams

What a beauty. I can attest to these little cameras being superb picture-taking machines. Your photos prove that.

Amazing pics. Nice 3c. Personally. The 1a is a favorite, then the m3 and the m6.. dont get me started on optics. Question who processes your film and what do you shoot?

Hello Carlos.

I have just de-complicated my gear collection and with the revenue have purchased a pristine 1956 M3. It only just arrived today from Tamarkin/Chicago.

I develop my own film. As for what I shoot, do you mean film or subjects?

You question may find answers if you visit my Flickr page. Each photo has all of the supporting details available under the associated ‘i’ for info.

Thank you for your kind words about my pix Carlos.

The pics are epic b and w 56 m3. Best m ever use it with a 35 and full frame no glasses it's great. Yes film. What film. I'm an old tri x exposed at 200iso developed in d76 1 to 1. And yes I push. No plastic tanks here. Kinderman ss , the art of rolling. Jeje. Still have my focomat 2c. And my 1a.

Thank you Carlos. The onlydeveloping tank I have is by Patterson. Probably considered just a general purpose ‘cheapy’. Tomorrow I will shoot around the garden at home (low immunity and must stay below the radar) with a roll of RPX400. I intend an adventure - will try to develop it in caffenol-c-l. Looking forward to it. Never used D76. Are there any 35//120 SS tanks you might recommend that aren’t excessively priced? Yup, tri x indeed. I remember using tri x in the mid 60s in high school - used to take flashless indoor basketball game shots. Developed the film in Dektol to push to about 1200asa. Used to like plus x for outdoors and mostly used Microdol x back then. Long time ago.

Say it again strange Interlude play right strange Interlude play right oh Neil oh and EIL else santa clara here for the top know four down bruins schedule or something because our CLA I don't know what the hell that means five down becomes Alabama city a EL I am he questioning and this turn the light on that might be UCLA UCLA Bruins University California Los Angeles in which case clara would be right you're so many Santa Claus do you know he's fine clause Santa Claus that's right
Carlos, where are you in Canada?

Dektol was a paper developer. Umm still have some chemistry books on making developers .. plus x was rated at 125 iso , back then it was pussx. Lol. Tri x was magic. Pushed that stuff to 3200 in straight d76. . Ahh from film to a print in 1 hr. Yup. A working darkroom. Digital sucks.. shooting agfachrome and kodachrome today is 2 sensors. And I wont talk about filtration.

Just chiming in here that you've got another new fan - came to gawk at the camera, found a great Flickr account instead

Thanks Carlos. I take the photos to please myself, but it is always rewarding to know that someone else regards your work in a kindly way. Thank you.
