Ilex Paragon Anastigmat 12" f/4.5 lens
Barrel lens with a unique look, and adjustable soft focus/diffusion. Estimated year of production is 1948-49.
Glass looks great, aperture moves smoothly, though one blade looks slightly out of place when it's closed down.
Use the lens without diffusion for sharp images, or use the diffusion ring for dreamy portraits, or mix a small aperture with lots of soft focus for out-of-the-ordinary photos.
Diffusion limiting screw that keeps diffusion to "5" has been removed. The diffusion ring can now rotate 3-4 times for a very pronounced effect. Limiting screw will be included separately.
Looks great on film and wet plate, fast f/4.5 maximum aperture. Terrific portrait lens.
Includes home-made front cap.
