This is rightly a legendary lens for the Hasselblad, where Zeiss managed to create an extraordinarily sharp and distortion-free lens. This is a non-T* lens, so an earlier production model, and will (say the “experts”) give a slightly lower contrast than a T* version. However, in my use, this lens is plenty contrasty as it is, and using the hood will all but eliminate any stray light that could lower it. There is even a group online that seems to favor the non-T* lenses because of their unique rendering. I’ve certainly never had any complaints about it!
The lens was CLA’d before I bought it early last year and works perfectly - the aperture blades are clean and the shutter is accurate at all speeds. The front element is perfect, but the back has a series (4) of slight pin-prick looking defects in the coating (and glass possibly) at one edge, covering roughly 3-5 mm). It is close enough to the edge as to not affect the images, and I have never noticed any image degradation because of it, but I have priced the lens to take this into account. Please see accompanying photos.
The lens comes with front & rear caps, Hassy UV filter, and an aftermarket hood. No box.
