I am selling a nice Graflex Crown Graphic with a clean Kodak Ektar 127mm f4.7 lens mounted in a Graphic Supermatic X Shutter.

The Kodak Ektar 127mm lens was pretty much a standard lens with Crown and Speed Graphics and it is very good. I have used this one since I started working with large format and have been more then satisfied with it. It is a sharp lens, particularly in the center, even at wide open apertures. Since it is a mild wide angle lens it is easier to focus, which was one of the reasons that the news reporters were fond of this lens.

The Graphic Supermatic X shutter has a good range of speeds to compliment the aperture range of the lens so the two are well matched. This particular shutter is pretty much on the money all the way up to 1/200. The 1/400 speed is actually 1/200 so there is no real advantage to using it, which really isn’t that unusual.

Obviously the lens and shutters can be switched out on these cameras and there are a lot of different lenses and shutters that work with these cameras. Because of that these cameras are actually very good options if you have never tried large format before. Though they do not have a lot of lens movements but you can raise and lower the lens board and use some lens swings. As such it is a good learning camera.

This camera is not perfect but it is in decent condition. The leather looks good and nothing is peeling off. The black paint on the graflock back has been scratched up pretty good but the back still works perfectly. By the way, this is the back you want since it allows you to use standard 4x5 holders, roll film holders and polaroid holders. I would imagine if anyone actually built a digital back for one of these it would almost certainly use the Graflock back. The graflock back is also standard on other cameras besides the Graflex cameras.

The front standard pops out quickly when the button is pressed. When pulled out all the way out the struts lock solidly into place. The struts and mechanical parts are straight and look good. There is no evidence that anything is bent or out of alignment

The lens is clear with no visible scratches or fogging. There is no oil on the aperture blades. The bellows is in good condition and there are no light leaks. The coupled rangefinder works smoothly and accurately. The hand strap is attached and in good shape.

There are two focusing scales on this camera with two differet infinity stops. The red stops and scales are used with the 127mm Ektar lens and is accurate for that lens. I am not sure but I think the yellow scale and infinity stops are for the Kodak 210mm lens but I can’t say that for certain since I have never tried that lens. The Kalart side mounted rangefinder is properly adjusted for this lens and the rangefinder spot is easy to see in daylight. The spot is a bit hard to see at night or indoors but you can easily open the rear hood and focus on the ground glass. Usually this is done with the camera on a tripod but with practice it can also be done handheld.

I am asking $250 USD for this camera and lens. I accept Paypal or USPS Money Orders. I only sell and ship within the continental United States. Shipping and Paypal fees are included in the price. I ship USPS Priority Mail.

Enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking.
