Let’s go in a slightly different direction. Still medium format but no longer a manual folder. Instead I am offering...
A Fujifilm GA645Zi in great condition. This is probably the ultimate in medium format point and shoot. It provides a 6x4.5 negative. It comes with a beautiful Super EBC Fujinon 55-90mm zoom lens. The minimum aperture at 55mm, which is mildly wide angle at this format, is f4.5. It closes all the way down to f22. At the other end is 90mm, which is a mild telephoto for this format, with a minimum aperture of f6.9. It closes down to f38. The shutter speeds run from 2 seconds on the slow end to 1/700 seconds at the fast end. The ISO can be set from ISO 25 to ISO 1600.
The camera is in good condition. Everything on it looks really good and that beautiful Fujinon lens will reward you with some great quality photos or slides. The camera comes equipped with a 52mm UV Filter, a lens shade and a cloth case to protect it. It will use 120 film and can also use 220 film, although this is becoming pretty rare anymore. It also imprints data on the film edge that gives information regarding your settings when you captured a given negative or slide.
As nice as it is though there are some problems. Though the camera operates flawlessly, the rear LCD is dying. As a result it is difficult to see some of the information that typically displays on the back screen. Most of your shooting information is provided in the viewfinder but the ISO setting, 120 or 220 format setting, and the data settings are displayed on the back screen. It is possible to see the ISO by holding the camera at an angle in the right light but this is not something you will want to change on the fly, particularly in poor lighting. The other problem is that this camera is not really fast enough for sports or fast action. Great for portraits, landscapes and travel memories. Not so good for that soccer game.
Remember, this is not a particularly fast lens so a faster film is a benefit. My favorite film in this camera is Portra 400 but HP5+ or TMY400 works equally well if you are fond of black and white.
As mentioned, everything else works really well. Auto focus is pretty decent though it can be fooled in low contrast situations. It is possible to focus manually and I have used hyperfocus techniques very successfully when I am on aperture priority. It has parallax correction as you focus closer to your subject.
The shutter is on the money, the zoom features work nicely, and the film transport works without any problems. It is very accurate with auto exposure though it is possible to utilize aperture priority and full manual exposure as well. I think of it as my perfect travel camera. It is pretty compact and with Portra 400 I get great photos.
Although I have tested the various functions of this camera, the batteries I am using to do this belong to another camera. If you decide to purchase the camera I am not shipping batteries along with it so you will need to pick up a set. It uses two CR123A 3 volt batteries. It does relatively well on a set of batteries unless you decide to use the built in flash, which is marvelous for fill flash BTW. The flash will eat batteries quickly so I typically use a separate flash instead.
Because of the LCD problems I am only asking $300 USD for this camera. This is a bargain based on the current prices being asked for this camera on Ebay and other sites. I accept Paypal or USPS Money Orders. I only sell and ship within the continental United States. Shipping and Paypal fees are included in the price. I ship USPS Priority Mail.
Enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking.
