For Sale: 14"f/7.7 Goerz Dagor in barrel with original flange. The glass is clean and clear, but with the following exceptions:
There is a small air bubble near the front, at the edge of the glass. (Third photo) These are typical in lenses of this vintage as an artifact of glass manufacture and are generally regarded as being non-detrimental to the image.
There is a light scratch about 1/2" long on the rear surface. It appears to be a scratch in the coating. Except, I had thought that this lens was uncoated, although the coloration to the glass looks like it might have been coated at some point. But to be honest, I do not know if the glass is coated. Regarding the small scratch, it has had no effect on the image that I have seen. And while it is easily discernible on visual inspection, it also appears to be very close to the rearmost surfact.

The iris moves very smoothly and without any tightness or binding whatsoever.
Cosmetically the lens is in excellent overall condition with just a few marks and abrasions to the outside of the shade. (Yes, it is included. Overall it is quite a pretty lens with good metal finish and nice glass.
I have hung this on my 12x20 to look at relative coverage. It definitely falls short of covering 12x20, although the image quality is very nice. But it should be adequate for up to 11x14, even with modest movements.
In light of the mild scratch and small bubble, I am keeping the price low to hopefully make it a better "deal" for someone just getting into ULF at the 11x14 level. In fact, 14" being the "long side of the format", this lens offers a great perspective for 11x14. And the image from this lens is scrumptious... good enough to eat!
