Hi Everyone,

GONE TO A NEW HOME For sale: a clean 135mm ƒ/4.5 Schneider Xenar lens in a Synchro-Compur shutter. This lens covers 4×5", but does not offer much extra coverage. Straight on, it looks great with even coverage. Serial 10,828,969, which dates it to late 1967 or early 1968. The coating is fine but there is a slight haze in the front group. I could not photograph it but you can see it with a bright LED flashlight. I did not know it was present until I was checking carefully for this sale. Filter size is 40.5 mm. A Tiffen 602 adapter will let you use Series VI filters.

The Synchro-Compur shutter has the old-fashioned speeds (1, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200, and 1/400). There is no serial number on the shutter that I can see, and it is engraved "Made in Germany West." The speeds have been fine for me, 1 sec. may be a bit slow, but it sounds about right now. All blades are clean. Aperture ƒ/4.5 to ƒ/32. Lens board needs a Copal 1 opening (about 41 or 42mm). The flash terminal works.

I bought the lens about 20 years ago at the former Lens & Repro in New York City. A few years ago, I broke the self-timer button, but I sent it to Camera Doctor in New York and they replaced the knob. It is useful because it saves time compared to screwing on a cable release (or you can take a selfie).

How does $100 sound including USPS priority mail to a USA address? Complete with Schneider front cap, Rodenstock rear cap, and retaining ring. Please send a PM; make an offer if you wish. Thanks for reading this listing.
