This handy little accessory allows a shoe mount flash to be used on the original Canon F-1 and the F-1n (second version). These are the fully mechanical versions and should not be confused with the F-1N, the electronic version. It slides over the rewind knob and has a small lever mechanism to hold it in place. An internal battery powers a small light to illuminate the viewfinder. This battery does not trigger anything or affect the metering system – it simply illuminates the viewfinder. The coupler will work fine without it. The modern equivalent for this battery is an LR50, 1APX, or EXP1. There is also space for a PX-13 size button battery for use with the Canon CAT flash exposure system. Price is $18.00 plus postage.
