So, who wants to do the instant print 'postcard' exchange again?

I attempted to do mine yesterday only to discover I have a light leak some where in my rig. Said light leak twasn't there two weeks ago! So unless ya'll want a rather cosmic-looking light saber slash going diametrically from corner to corner of the frame, I'll try again next weekend. After fixing the leak, of course.

Mine are taken, scribbled on and stamped. All that's needed now is for me to take a walk to the nearest post box (taking the prints with me on the way).
So, they should be in the mail soon!

The first one made it across the big pond: I received a nice and colourful image from Sam Hotton today; thanks!

I've just been experimenting with selenium toning Polaroid Type 55 prints.
A straight tone in KRST 1+10 gives a slightly warmer result (with a hint of purple) than the straight print but I wasn't too impressed.
Bleaching in potassium bichromate-based bleach, redeveloping in Neutol WA, then toning in KRST 1+10 gives a lovely rich chocolate brown. Yummy.

The only problem is avoiding any damage to the emulsion. Even over-enthusiastic agitation in the trays can cause it to disintegrate in patches.

Got my " pitchure takin' " done yesterday. Addressing tonight and they should go out in Tuesday's mail.

Have received from Heather and Peter Williams. Thanks!

Interesting to note that both the Royal Mail and US Mail delivered Heather's photo with just a small inscription of my address on the back lower border (600 film).

Mine are done on 669 film. You can make an emulsion lift with it if you like.

Yay I got my first card today! From Alex. It's amazing! I'm still trying to figure out how you made it look that way. I showed it to my friend (nonphotographer) and he's just as boggled at it as I am. It's amazing, like a handpainted B&W photograph.
