I've been playing around with some of the more esoteric strange films lately, and I'm curious about the Lomo Purple and Lomo Turquoise films. IIAC, Lomo does not really coat any film, but they sell other manufacturers products relabeled. (Am I correct here?)
Does anybody know what actual films are being sold as Lomo Purple and Lomo Turquoise?
IIRC they are C41 films with altered "mismatched" dyes (eg. cyan doesn't render cyan), with the purpose of mimicking IR. The film is quite possibly made by Inoviscoat in Germany.
The CN 100, 400 and 800 supposedly are an older iteration of Kodacolor. The B&W went from being chinese (shanghai?) to a Tmax relative.
I only used color negative 100 in 120 size. I print colour in the darkroom and that film behaves just like kodacolor 200; same filtration produce the same tones. So I suspect it is made by Kodak for Lomography. It is a really good film for smaller prints.
Lomochrome is almost certainly produced by inoviscoat in germany as on their website they say something about a colour film that produce weird colours or something like that
