I know what you mean. My Pink Pearl got less and less use as time went on. BTW, I got that Pink Pearl when I was in high school and it was with me through college and a 40+ year career. Same with the associated gentle black eraser.

Are/were you an engineer? I ask because I did something very similar: I kept and used the same eraser from my senior year of high school, through college, and a few years into my career. Methinks there must be something innate that would drive one to do that and to shoot film throughout a lifetime.

Well, have received this slide holder and I was hoping to spend time on taking some pics and writing a short review. In the end it is going to be short:

1. not fulfilling or not expected to achieve the intended purpose or desired outcome.

Item looks well printed with good precision, very rigid and fairly smooth finish. Slide slot is actually a bit too loose (slide goes in very easily even if it does not fall out when back is tilted down), but that I could live with. What I cannot accept ... it does NOT stay in place when snapped on. In fact of 3 backs it does not even snap-on at all on two of them, on one it does, but comes right off with tiny bump. Cannot be used as advertised. But one can put a slide in it, then the whole thing in a pocket and slide will not get bent for sure, but it will inflict other kinds of pain.

I was originally concerned about this design, hence my thread here, and also asked seller directly. Magazines don't seem to have much to grab for this approach and I suppose in theory it may work, but clearly requires far tighter precision.

To add to my disappointment, I also ordered from them finder bottom protector and screen protector (screen cover that can protect it, if finder is removed from body). Screen cover works fine, finder protector is so tight, it takes too much force to put it on, and even more to remove it. So out of 3 items, only one matched description. Not good.

I'm not knocking down the maker/seller just yet as I just wrote to them with my findings, so there may be more to this purchase experience. But I will say this: snap-on slide protector as one received is a no go. Spend your money on pants/shirts with bigger pocket if you must.

I use the dark slide holders that is held on with double stick tape. I am happy with them although I had to replace the tape on only one after about 8 years of use. The view finder bottom cover, I picked up used with a prism, so all I can suggest is that you contact camera stores or check eBay for used ones.

Well, I was looking forward to having a snap-on holder. Seller keeps claiming something went wrong, so he will get me another piece. Finder covers can be had used, I see them all over actually, but I did not think they could screw that one up. So I am getting another piece printed anew to try again. So there will be an ending to this story, happy ending ?

Quick update on snap-on slide holder. Have received a second one today. They got it somewhat tighter fitting, so it stays on one back firmly and it's actually hard to remove. But it jumps right off a second one. What it really means is that Hasselblad backs are not that exactly same shape. Since this thing clamps onto next to nothing, not much difference is needed on each back to either work or not. But second problem remains all the slot for the slide is too wide and slide can fall out on its own with back tilted down in that direction.

Bottom line, it may or may not stay on, hit or miss, no good. I need to give credit to seller for sending second copy without a cough, but item is unacceptable (but it does look great once, and if, mounted).

When snap-on does not stay on, it really just springs right off and pretty strong spring back too. Side tabs can be cut off and double sided tape used. That would work. But then the slot does not give a lot of confidence slide will remain in and that could mean either dropping on hard pavement with damage, losing it somewhere without noticing or both. So I don't think I'm going to do the mod and tape them on.
