This is my first rangefinder, and I bought it last January. Having it for a few months, i must say this is one incredible camera.. the lens is amazing! I'm always surprised everytime my negs come back from the lab..

You're making me want one! Is it battery dependent, and does it use a modern battery?

Hi chazzy,

It's not battery dependent.. It has shutter priority automatic exposure... But I prefer using it in manual mode.. The meter works in manual mode too.. I don't trust my Konica Auto S2's meter so I just shoot with Sunny16.. It doesn't use modern battery though it can be converted to take modern ones.. I use the modern energizer PX625 batteries..

Thanks very much. Konica lenses have a good reputation. The lenses for my Koni-Omega are excellent.

Konicas are splendid, although the range of lenses for my T4 isn't exactly great! The AR format was never considered a serious outlet for some of the alternative lens makers like the Canon and Nikons have with sigma. Having said that, one of my favourite lenses is the 50mm f/1.8 that's mounted on it right now! Beautifully sharp and crisp.

Actually the Konica Auto S2 made me lust for Konica cameras than Leicas.. LOL.. My next goal is to get a Konica SLR system.. A Konica Auto-Relfex T3 perhaps and hexanon glass.. 50/1.7 they say is one of the sharpest glass ever created..
