While I have several "traditional" exposure meters, I don't always have them on me, but my new Samsung Galaxy 5 I'm likely to have with me. Anyone know of apps to use a smart phone for light metering?? Many thanks!

Yeah, I have an app called Light Meter Tools - Trial, but it's the full version because he's no longer working on it I believe. Seems to work decently enough, but I've only minimally played with it. It's in the Google Play store.

I use one called LightMeter Free on a Samsung Note 2. It looks and functions like an old light meter with incident(default and constant metering) and reflective(takes a picture and uses EXIF data) metering options. Only 2 annoyances are the ads(paid version removes them), and it reverts back to 100 ISO every time you leave the app(just an easy swipe to scroll to your ISO). I had a hard time finding one that was not just an incident meter, functioned in a manner where I could see the screen and meter since several used the screen side camera only, and gave meaningful readings since some just gave me garbage like needing 30 seconds at f2.0 in full sun. I want a real meter, but I always have my phone with me anyways. I figured it was no loss to give a light meter app a try.

FTW, BeeCam Lightmeter for Android.

Thanks to all. Time for a little experimentation.

Lightmeter Pro on my Galaxy S5 has nearly identical readings to my Luna F digital.
