Hey, as mentioned in the thread of the first small print exchange, it is time to do a second round of this.

The rules are simple:

  • Any traditional process allowed on any paper as long as the paper is no larger than 8x10. Smaller is OK, whatever fits.
  • As in the group print exchanges we will build groups of three or four people to send a print to each other. But there is no need to send the same image to each of the members in your group. Although sometimes it is interesting to get feedback for the same image from different people.
  • There is no need to mount/mat/frame the print. If you do so I think it is OK, but we should not expect others to do so as well.
  • I think maybe a little bit info about the image and the print is always welcome.

Lets say we wait for people interested until the end of January, then I will build groups and off we go.

Cheers
Ruediger

I've yet to participate in any APUG print exchanges, so I'd love to do this. I've fallen in love with small prints, and especially contact prints.

When would the prints have to be sent out?

My apologies if I missed this bit of information.

When will the prints be due to be sent out by?
I would propose End of March. That gives us two months to print and send.

OK, time to start. Only six people from the last round, so it was easy to setup the groups so that nobody meets with the same people from the first round. And here is what I got out of my hat:

Group 1
Barry (Barry S)
Joe (Joe O'Brien)
John (johnnywalker)
Laurent (Laurent)

Group 2
Craig (ccross)
John (JohnMeadows)
Paul (paul_c5x4)
Terry (Terry Christian)

Group 3
Delphine (delphine)
Eugene (Anikin)
Loren (Loren Sattler)
Ruediger (rst)

Please send a PM with your address to the people in your group. And please try to send your prints within the next one or two months. Thanks!

So time to get to your files and look for a negative to print.

Cheers

Thanks for organizing this Ruediger.

Note to Groups 2 and 3: I'd love to exchange prints with all of you--there's only a total of 12 in all the groups, so please send me a PM if you'd like to add me to your exchange. Thanks!

I didn't see a "feedback thread" for this exchange.

I received a very nice print from John, showing Douglas Lake Range. I really love the peaceful mood that "flows" from this landscape, thanks !

Hi Laurent, glad you like the picture. Sorry my writing is so bad, but it's actually taken on the Douglas Lake Ranch, one of the largest cattle ranches in North America.

Your writing is MUCH better than my reading  you actually wrote RANCH and I read RANGE... Need to change my glasses I'm afraid !

I received John's lovely print as well. Thank you! I've been in the darkroom all week working, but only have work prints so far. For some reason, I decided to use a brand new paper (Ilford MG Art 300) *and* print a very tricky negative. Must be the masochist in me. The Art 300 is beautiful paper and worth the effort--I've figured out the density and contrast changes from toning and drydown. If all goes well I should have my prints ready in about a week.
