Hi

I was in Prague a couple of years back and visited Fotoskoda (and Jan Pazdera, which is a superb store).

In Fotoskoda, they have a pretty big collection of various vintage cameras, not always for sale, ranging from large format cameras, to vintage spy-cameras.

However, I remember seeing that they had a shelf there with a bunch of small folder-cameras, size being smaller and thinner than a Leica CL and they came in a variety of colors, usually pastel blue, pink and also white ones.

They basically looked like 30's Ikontas (very different from Baldina), or Super Nettels, definitely not as crude as Kodak petite cameras, very small, either 35mm or even smaller format type of folder cameras.

Something like this:

I cannot for the life of me figure out what kind of cameras these were (maybe they were Kodak Vanities after all, but some opened from the bottom, not from the side), or if they were USSR based or German/UK/Europe based.

Does anyone have a clue what I could be talking about?

Figured I should try and get hold of some on eBay, but I have no idea what to insert as a search-query

To sum up: Small, cute folder cameras, colors and size suggest they were made for women/ladies and the style of the cameras looked pre WW II (or soviet made up to the 50's and 60's ), Ikonta style. Probably 35mm film or even smaller format, due to the tiny size of the cameras.

Nope, like I said, the Petite-series are too crude looking, especially in the lens apartment on the ones with the correct color palette.

The ones I am referring to are very similar to the Vanity in terms of styling, but I really don't think they were (they were not "gold" plated).

Hehe maybe I should just call fotoskoda and ask
