Any decent new small(ish) flash units out there that can be used on a cold shoe?

I have great Nissin units that are quite big, looking for something pocketable for random indoors duty mostly.

TIA

The main question is what size- or what output-requirements you got.

Sunpak 121C. I use it on my Nikon S2 and it has a really sweet built in PC cord for cameras with cold shoes. Like the S2..
Maybe $10 on ebay.

We had a thread on the search for such small flash just a few weeks ago. However there was no need for a PC connector.

A lot of money for such a simple flash (compared to rummage box prices...)
Anyway, that is a small one indeed, and I got in my collection, but there even is smaller and half stop more powerful one.

A very compact and quite modern tiny flash is the Metz 34 CS-2 digital.
A autoexposure flash with GN 28m, 3 (!) auto-apertures plus manual. Hot foot (needs to be isolated) and sync connector for tiny audio-plug. Swivelable wide-angle (24mm) diffusor (or tele fresnel lens (85mm)).
61 mm x 111 mm x 35 mm
Disadvantage: takes CR-2 batteries
