Small 35mm snapshot camera with a wide angle lens

I am on G.A.S. - again

Currently i was looking for a small point and shoot style camera with a wider lens..28mm would be nice i guess.
Nikon 28ti is too expensive and really hard to find. I have a budget of 300-400 Euro max.

What would you recommend?

Nikon Lite Touch / AF600
Got one for 10 at charity.
Only one film through it so far. So I don't have much to add to the (mostly positive) reviews below.
Just ignore the silly "panorama" option.

What about the Bessa L? You can combine it with the great SuperHeliar 15mm or the 28mm Ultron from Cosina Voigtländer.

If you like a cheaper solution, really small, sharp but not so wide i would choose a Minox 35 GT http://www.flickr.com/photos/phototobi78/11844003256/

How about a Nikon L35 AF? It has a 35mm lens rather than 28mm which you're looking for - but the price is right.

I have one which can be yours for £0. Just pay for postage.

Olympus XA 4 and have a bunch of money left over for film. 28MM lens and neat clamshell design for easy pocketing. Bill Barber

Konica Off Road has a 28mm, weather resistance case, in the 35mm range both Olympus and Minolta made a point and shoots with 35mm and a 85mm the Minolta weathermatic also came in a zoom version.

Ricoh made a couple of models with wide angle lenses, and I think there were comparable Rollei models, too.

I think it was the Ricoh GR-1 or something like that.

Ricoh FF-8WR is a nice weatherproof option. If you don't mind a zoom, Pentax 928, 24EW, and 120SW, Fuji Silvi 2.8, Konica Lexio 70, and Rollei Prego 90 are all good affordable choices. But my favorite wide fixed-length compact is the tiny Nikon Lite Touch/AF600 that was previously mentioned. If you want a true snapshot camera, the Konica U-mini/EU mini or the Minplta AF101R are fixed-focus bits of cheap fun with decent lenses.

I used to have one of these that broke. A very nice camera. I'm hoping to get another one sometime.

For a more point & shoot style I recommend the Olympus Mju II. See:

It is compact, has a very good lightmeter, is waterproof and fast (enough).
It has a good 35 mm lens (no zoom).
I use it a lot for B&W and carry it almost daily in my pocket.

It can be found for €30 or less sometimes

T2 is an awesome camera. I love mine so much I bought a second fearful the first will die someday and that some day will be when they are hard to get. But it's 38mm lens is far from the wide 28mm you said we you wanted.

i know. curious what the images will look like.
the haptic is nevertheless outstanding.

another member here recommended a Lomo LC-A.
Do you have any experiences with that? It's said that the russian lens is great. Plus it's a small camera

I would recommend this camera as well. It has a great exposure meter that you can put in spot meter mode a sharp lens and its very compact. Another one people seem to like is the Yashica t4 but its not as tough as the olympus mju II aka olympus stylus epic.

I have been carrying mine around all the time. As well as on trips along side my MF camera. Ive gotten some amazing shots out of it.

Yashica T4 is the cat's ass but it's a 35mm lens which I would consider more of a normal focal length. I definitely wish that mine had a 28mm lens.
