Hi.
I have accumulated many vintage SLR cameras. Many have one thing in common, they are missing the small round or triangle shape ring that secures the shoulder strap to the lug on the camera body. I'm having trouble finding these, maybe because I don't know exactly what to call them. I prefer the triangle style.
Does anyone know the correct term or have some to spare?
thanks,
Rick
You are no fool. Or not the only one. I did not know the german term either. I had to look it up at some photo accessory catalog. And it was a term I never even heard of...
The better triangular rings also have clip-on plastic "shields" that protect the ring from rubbing against the metal of the camera body.
For some reason, lately I've been having difficulty spreading the rings so that I can "feed" the end into the eye of the lug. Either rings have become stiffer or I've forgotten some trick of doing it (and, no, my grip isn't weaker).
