Hey everyone!

I recently got the aforementioned camera and went out to shoot some wildlife (swans) today at the local pond. Never tried to shoot anything moving before and was pretty shocked to find the slow shutter response. For an electronic camera (albeit a bit old) I expected it to be a bit faster? Felt like an entire second. Does anyone on here have experience with this camera?

I have the AFD3 and I don't have a noticable shutter delay. Can it be that the autofocus mechanism was still working on getting the swans in focus and therefore blocked the shutter release? The autofocus on these cameras is pretty slow by modern standards. The AFD3 is supposed to focus a bit faster than the AFD but is still slow compared to my Canon 5DII which is not the youngest anymore either. Try shooting a still object and focus first. Or turn off the autofocus. See if that makes a difference.

Try an RB 67. You can trip the button and go make a sandwich and smoke a cigarette before the shutter finally fires.

Yep, i remember my days with my RB never dared to use it hand held to shoot moving objects... One who could, I imagine, would probably be built like Popeye.
