I shot my first slide films in April and finally sent them off last week. I received them today in the mail. Oh my gosh. There is a great difference in seeing them in person than on a computer screen. I can't even imagine what projection would be like. The Ektachrome 64 is amazing. The magenta shifted astia not so much but still pops!

Keep in mind that slides films are designed for reflection-projection. Not for direct projection/viewing.

Don't you mean transmission-projection? At least in my brain, reflection-projection is how you'd project a page from a book on the screen, while slides are intended to have the light shine through the slide and then onto the screen.

Oh, and congrats to kxjru for shooting some slide film. If you liked Ektachrome 64, you should try Fuji's Provia 100F. That stuff is da bomb if you're shooting people. Velvia 50 is amazing for landscapes but not so much for people. Provia 100F works well for both, as it's less saturated, less contrasty, and more neutral.

My wording wass not brilliant. Anyway, keep in mind that one look at slide in direct transmitted light (held in front of eye, looked at on light table ot in optical slide viewer, even viewed on a ground glass), but also as image projectedc onto a screen and reflected from it. The latter being the manner at least the small formats were designed for.
