Last weekend I managed to find a reasonable deal on a used Rollei P66S Medium Format slide projector. This is the first time I've actually owned one of these - all previous experience has been with borrowed or rented machines.

It seems to work great, but most of my MF slides are unmounted.

I've trolled though the usual sites (B & H, Calumet and Adorama) to get an idea about what is available for mounting my own 6x6 and 6x4.5 slides, as well as the associated costs.

Does anyone here do much of this, and do you have any recommendations as to brands, types of mounts and sources to purchase them from?

I note both glassless and anti-newton glass versions. I generally prefer glassless, because of weight and cost issues, and because that leads to variety in the shape and size of the dust that gets projected  .

I expect that I am most likely limited to USA or (preferably) Canada for sellers - shipping from Europe would most likely be too expensive - but I am willing to look there if it makes sense.

I would be willing to consider a bit of a bulk purchase, if the price makes sense.

Does anyone here have any they don't want, and would like to sell?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use the Gepe glassless mounts and find that they work fine for projection. I get mine from a photo supply place locally, so I don't know of any specific source on the web. If you do a google or yahoo search for gepe slide mounts or gepe mounts, you should be able to find some sources.

If you have any problems finding a local seller I supply these medium format mounts both with and without glass if you need them.
Down here in australia They don't move too quickly. In the past year my lab has only done 3 jobs mounting meduium format.

MF slide mounts

For those resident in the UK, A company called KENRO based in Swindon holds card slide mounts for 645 and 6x6. Call UK 01793 615386. They are about ten UK pounds per 100. Slightly cheaper than the GEPE plastic mounts, normally sold in packs of 20 for the same price.

I have the Rollei P66S projector Matt, and find that glassless mounts are O.K. for 35mm slides, but for M/F film because of the size of the film and the heat of the lamp if you want the projected image to stay in focus all over A/N glass mounts are much better.

Yes, I agree with on this one: GePe mounts with AN glass are the best, particularly for projection. To hell with the expense!
