Dear all,
sorry if this has been asked before, but I did not find a thread about it!

I take an awful lot of 6x7 slides (for Ilfochrome prints), and would like to copy them onto 35 mm film, as I can then project them with my existing Rollei system.

Do I need a specific slide copy film, or will any film do?

I assume that if I used 'normal' slide film, I will get rather high contrast - so copy film should probably be much softer, is that correct?

Many thanks for your help!

Both Kodak and Fuji make slide duplicating film specifically for this purpose, this is the ideal film stock to use.

Your right in assuming that conventional film will give too high a contrast, but some slide duplicaors allowed a little contrast control, using controlled fogging, very similar to pre-flashing in B&W or colour printing.

Many professional labs use spare colour enlarger heads as a lightbox, in fact De Vere made a head just for slide duplicating.
