Here's a dumb question: I've been using VC papers now for about 10yrs and switched to a cold light in my D2 gave away the condenser to another APUGER who needed it. How do graded papers print with a cold light? I have an aristo V54 (blue/green) cold light. Will this cause problems with graded papers? I really want to try the Slavich unibrom for cool tones and I like the price.
Or would I be better off with Arista II(kentmere VC)?

Graded papers are just sensitive to blue light, with little or no sensitivity in the green. I've never used your coldlight head, but it seems logical that you would adjust (if you can) it for maximum blue. Using maximum green as well will help you focus but will not affect the exposure much.

only sensitive. Don't pay any attention to the Slavich
RED only safelight stipulation. I and others are doing
fine with the easier to work by yellow-ish orange-ish

You might find that the cold light affects exposure time, but it won't affect image quality. That's one of the nice things about graded papers. The colour of the light is relatively irrelevant within reason.

I concur with everything Dan said. I have no experience using a cold light but I know they were/are higly used with graded papers.

As far as the safelight is concerned, I have been using the standard Kodak OC light with Slavich for about a year with no problems.
