Hello all,
Are there any 35mm slide box manufactures left ?
I mean the box type that's designed for holding around 40 mounted slides ( single roll box ) for bulk lab use.
Gepe have ceased making theirs and I can't find anyone making these now.

Any leads would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
John S

The next best thing would be the Paximat 50x tray with lid. But this of course would be open at the underside.
Still manufactured/in stock by AP.

Concerning having them made, just inquire at AP at which lot size they would make them again for you.
You would not even need 2-plastics boxes, which makes production more easy.

Another issue is that the stated capacity of any unslitted box is dependend on slide thickness.

BUT is AP even still around? So many of their products seem to have disappeared.

AP on the photographic sector have moved their emphasis from from manufacturing to wholesale. But I assume they still have injection molding capacity, at least there is no hint of that being sold off.

That many of their photo related self-manufactured products vanished is not surprising, seen the market situation

just that their metal DX cassettes have disappeared from the market.
Every manufacturer drops products from time to time, maybe they have stopped producing them. It is true that reloadable cassettes have become quite rare these days, although luckily, I have a fair amount of them and can source some If I wish.

I'm very pleased to report that after extensive searching, I've discovered the original company that made slide boxes we used 30 odd years ago is still going strong here in the UK.
The company, Bibby Engineering Ltd is a plastics manufacturer, who supply SP2 ( blue / white ) 35mm slide boxes ( in bulk boxes of 500 ) to labs.

I'm trying to convince them to make these available in smaller packs for consumers.
Each box holds 40 1.8mm thick slides ( ie.. GePe Quickslide DS machine mounts ).

Both are made by AP and as I hinted at above, AP no longer lists them on their own site, thus stock likely is limited at Brenner.

I have been wondering how AP is doing, they used to be the source of what we called the AGFA/Ilford reloadable cassettes which are getting hard to find. (the DX coded ones have completely disappeared . have they cut their line because of lack of demand, or are they just totally downsizing to get into other markets?

As far as slide boxes - B&H credits this one ot "Pakon" but I though Pakon was only a ghost of it's former self these days... https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/40301-REG/Pakon_PKAV40_Storage_Box_for_40.html
