I've got an old Sinar P, where the rear standard has a few broken teeth in the curved nylon rack that is driven by a pinion to control forward/back tilt. It needs to be helped past that spot by hand when adjusting. I understand this is a not uncommon problems with these as they age.

Do any of you know of a source for spare parts? That rack is really easy to replace, so if I could get hold of a new one, I'd have a fully functional P again very quickly.

Post if you find one, my P's front standard has some worn teeth for the shift movement.

Just remembered this thread... I did find the rack I needed, and my Sinar P is once again fully functional.

I started by contacting Gus Gulbranson of Northwest Camera (northwestcamera.com). He was willing to help, but since I'm in Europe, he suggested it might be quicker for me to contact his European supplier, Leica, in Germany (leica-camera.com). He gave me the email address of one Helga Frorath, who is his contact there. Because of logistical complications caused by the corona virus situation, she did not have the part I needed on hand - but she kindly took the trouble to call Bernhard B. Bittner (bbbittner.de), who repairs Sinar cameras, verify that he had the part available, and send me his contact information. After another couple of emails, the order was placed, and a few days later, the replacement rack landed in my mail box.

I am very grateful to Gus, Helga, and Bernhard for their kind assistance!
