Hi,

I have a Sinar F2 4x5. Can I opt for Sinar P 5x7 back standard, of course, with the proper bellows?

Thank you

If you are thinking of the complete 5x7 rear standard, with carrier, frame and back, then yes, you can combine it with your F2 4x5.

I think that Sinar actually sold them that way—the Sinar C—a combination of a P back an a F front standard.

There were numerous variations. The C was a P rear with an F1 front standard, not the later f2. But that's the nice thing about the system - the sheer interchangeability of components. But every now and then, someone cobbles together spare parts and tries to deceptively sell it as such and such a model it really isn't. But converting a 4X5 F2 to anything 5x7, buying separate needed components, might cost you considerably more than buying a 5x7 camera outright.

I’ve got 5x7 back with normal/wide bellows for less than 250 eur and saw few other good deals within few years.

P1/2 4x5 back standard is compatible with 5x7 frame.

There is rarelly seen 5x7 support standard (no movements), I suppose dedicated to support bellows in 8x10 configuration (8x10 to 5x7 bellows connected to 5x7 bellows). I just suspect that you can fit 5x7 frame to it to have f style 5x7 configuration with no back movements.

For sale?

You can find F front standards with the original risers, and also with long risers. I would recommend finding an F (F, F1, F2) standard with long risers.
