Sinar F2 - which viewing hood for 'right way up' magnified viewing

Hi everyone...I have the Sinar F2 and was wondering which you recommend for magnified, right way up, and correct left and right viewing......the Sinar version does all this? other brands doing it better? thanks for your recommendations.....the perfect accessory would be great magnification and 'correct' normal viewing......

I don't think any of them do. I think you need a pentaprism like on an SLR for that, and not just a single mirror.

This is my Sinar F with the binocular reflex viewer. It also has a lever for 2x magnification of an area.

I don't know the part number, but it should work on an F2.




I'm now using a sturdier Gitzo tripod.

But as said above, it only has one mirror. Effect is the same as with a SLR and WLF.

Here is a photo of my Horseman binocular reflex viewer, which does fit Sinar cameras as well as Horseman.



What you want is a REFLEX viewer, not a simply 'binocular viewer' which still presents an upside down image.

Is a single-mirror viewer not a "Reflex" viewer?
(The term reflex-camera was established even before there was a pentaprism viewer.)

By the way, in typical position a single-mirror viewer yields a right-up image, but laterally reversed.

Correct. To my knowledge, Sinar does not have a pentaprism attachment.

Truth be told, it's not really needed for LF work.

The only reason I have this viewer is because it provides a more comfortable viewing angle than I would ordinarily have looking directly at the groundglass.

It can be more convenient for high camera angles (without need for standing on a stool or ladder) or for low camera angles

I ain't wearing 6" heels. 40 years ago all the talk was about how dangerous they were and how they were anatomically bad.
