I want to purchase a Sinar F+ and a Sinaron DB Lens. Will it fit? I ask because Sinar's website says it will fit the f1 and f2 and I still don't know the difference of the f+, f1 and f2. Please help.
Be aware that a Sinaron DB lens has no shutter. It must be used with a Sinar DB shutter, which is a separate accessory from the camera and lens. Be sure that if you want to buy that lens, you buy the camera and shutter to go with it. The DB shutter is a behind-the-lens shutter that may or may not fit any of the cameras you mention. It is a relatively bulky contraption that may or may not fit your needs. You might be better off with a non-DB lens (most of the modern large format lenses out there).
Yes it will fit that all the f series cameras, so long as you have an auto shutter. For some types of work the auto shutter can not be beat....just depends on what you are using the camera for.
Look also at the specification for the SINAR AutoShutter Accessory. Most of the early ones are intended for long exposure times; it goes down to only 1/60th of a second for a shortest shutter speed. Outside in bright sun, that may not be enough with some films.
And, while I have a SINAR F and F1, and most of an F2, I am not really sure that I can describe in detail the differences between the F, F+, F1, and F2 models.
Good move! I owned an F2 for a while and found it to be a perfectly good camera. There is a lot of good used SINAR gear out there at much more reasonable prices than a decade or so ago.
