Is it possible that you put the shutter blades in the wrong locations? Maybe they only work correctly in one spot? I do hope someone who actually knows will chime in as I have not even seen one of those let alone tried to work on one so I am just putting an idea out there.

thank you for the replies.
the videos i all ready knew, unfortunately they do not cover the shutter blade issue.

could a sort of bushing be missing around the screw in the middle ?

it looks like an adjusting could be made in moving the underlaying slightly bent light colored metal part. i presume that if the 2 very small screws are loose the pivot point can be moved back and forth.
the screws are all stuck. i added some solvent and leve it to work a day or two.

any opinion ??

I have never, ever had one of these, much less looked inside. That said, I think it works by the silver ring rotating to drive the shutter blades in/out via the pins that ride in a hole in the shutter blades. I think the limits of travel of the silver ring are offset from where they should be. In the first picture, it has been driven "too far" beyond the closed position, and the shutter blades are in a position they should never be in, with a gap at the outside. In the second position it is not far enough and the shutter isn't open completely.

This may be obvious to someone operating the shutter. But I think you need to look at the position of the driving ring; it's more likely that one ring is off than that you would need to move all four pivot points of the blades.

hi again
thank you for your replies.

i got the screws loose, adjusted in various ways, unfortunately it is not the issue.
i still believe that there could be a little bushing around the small screw in the "square" hole . see picture above.

it would be of great help if anyone, owing a sinar shutter, are willing to spend a few minutes on me.
i need to have a picture of the assembly end from one of the blades to see how it works.

if you have a sinar shutter it is very easy, just screw off the black flat plate on the back, (4 screws )
and take a picture. it takes only 5 minutes. !

thank you so much !!

I just took a look into my shutter which is a DB version.

I took pictures.

The blades are fully retracted.

🙂

i have edited my earlier post in order to avoid leading anyone astray in the future.

I think there may be a difference between the Norma era shutter and the DB version I'm looking at.

The post you can see in my picture is round with a flat section.

The flat faces towards the centre of the shutter on all four posts

These posts are integral with the ring that operates the shutter blades.

Pressed or threaded into it perhaps.

This is different to the screws on your unit or shown in the PDF.

Even though the PDF claims to be for a DB.

This is what I see when I remove an E clip.

thanks a lot !
finally i found some very small 2mm screws to redeuce the slack in movement of the shutter leaves.
it did not solve the issue - so i have one sinar / copal for sale!
the clockwork is running without problems and sounds accurate in all settings,

again : thank you for all assistance !
