Does anybody have a simple recipe for me to make my own paper emulsion?I have silver nitrate and can get a variety of other salts(iodide bromide etc). the goal is to coat with a brush or similar to show and introduce young students to 'real' photography.a darkroom with typical chemicals and running water as well as 4x5 cameras are available. thanks for any leads you can provide. important is that we can all mix it ourselves.we've got the budget to buy but ,the point is a hand-on experience.

hello ralph

head over to denise ross' site: thelightfarm.com there are TONS of emulsion recipes
her book is on blurb: http://www.blurb.com/b/6465389-the-light-farm and it also is an amazing resource
not very expensive and worth every penny ( and you can browse it on blurb )
the simplest emulsion recipe i have found is chris patton's seawater recipe
http://thelightfarm.com/Map/DryPlate/Patton/DryPlatePart.htm
its just seawater ( or salt water ) gelatin and silver nitrate ... super slow but look at his results !

Denise Ross is very helpful, and I expect she would be really happy to work with you.
The roll film she coats herself is also amazing.

Hi Ralph...I'll come do a workshop with POP Collodion...now that's some cool printing..that's after you make the negatives!!

I second (third?) Denise's website. i also recommen her book which has several paper recipes including kodabromide equivalent.
