Hi everyone. Brand new to the forums but have looked through for a while now. I recently inherited an Omega B-8 enlarger from a close friend, but it seems to be missing the lens board and I'm assuming the negative carrier. I only plan on making prints from 35mm negatives so a basic setup is okay by me. So far it's been quite a jump from my make shift Camera enlarger using a parts camera and 55 prime to enlarge. Any help finding a simple lens board and neg carrier would rock. Thanks Everyone.

Welcome and glad to hear about your acquisition.

You may want to check out KHB Photographic on the web (store.khbphotografix.com). They have an excellent inventory of new and used Enlarger parts. I've had excellent luck with them. When browsing keep in mind that the prices are in Canadian dollars.

Good luck with your new Enlarger.

And KHB is a great and helpful resource as well. Here is their page on the B8: http://www.khbphotografix.com/omega/Enlargers/B8.htm

I've been using a B-8 for about 10 years. The list on the KHB site is very useful for figuring out what you need to watch for on eBay. I was eventually able to find everything I needed, although it took some patience.

You might also check here, Harry is gone, but I believe his daughter is running the company now.

Like the early D-series you will need a carrier, a lens plate and a lenscone for each format, the "cone" for a 50mm lens is flat, get a mount to fit you enlarger lens, most likely 39mm, and a carrier. In the case of lens plates and carriers I have made pretty good substitutes from black core mat boards. I also made a pretty fair extender for a cone one time from a spray paint can lit.

The nice thing about flat boards is they're really easy to make..Actually so are negative carriers, Maybe someone would photocopy one
so you would have the right size pattern.

You can use Beseler 23C carriers IF you removing the guide ring on the bottom of the carrier. It does need to have the rivits drilled out to remove that ring.
