My question may be somewhat rhetorical. Of course it's about making money, but why does SF ignore the industry-wide practice of providing a free user manual for complex software? And not supporting a working user forum? Speaking as someone whose career was in software product management, that is self-defeating at best. I know from my career experience that in small but established companies , the founder sometimes loses touch with the market and evolving industry practices.
To me, and probably to other people, these business practices leave a bad taste in my mouth. And from a competitive viewpoint,, Vuescan provides a free online user manual.
