For a newbie with an interest in Kallitype and Argyrotype, how critical are sources of silver nitrate and silver chloride?

A few years ago when I imagine there was less scrutiny of chemical purchases, I found a source of 'recycled photo-grade' silver nitrate in quantities of 100 g or so, something on the order of US$60...looked like a good deal. Never ordered any, wasn't ready yet.

Today on a whim I searched eBay stores for silver nitrate, not expecting anything but there is a seller claiming 'best web prices or something to that effect. 125g for $70 for technical grade. They had a simple explanation of their sources and refining process.

I see there is USP grade, technical grade, and 'chunky style '.

In the context of my leading question, how critical is this, and any idea what the 1-5 gram chunks would be good for?

Thanks

I purchased silver nitrate today from http://artcraftchemicals.com/

Their price is $45 for 100g. I thought it was expensive but I have in fact not been able to find a cheaper price.

Yes, that sounds good, and I think the source probably eliminates the questions of selecting the right grade.

Thanks
